An International Line-up of Teams
The Niederrhein Trophy is organized by four traditional football clubs from the Lower Rhine region: FC Büderich 02, VfL Benrath 06, SV Asberg and FC Neukirchen-Vluyn. The matches are played at several modern sports facilities in the region, providing participating teams with excellent conditions for an international football weekend. Previous editions attracted teams from Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, France and Denmark. In the coming years, another strong international field of participants is expected, ensuring exciting and high-quality matches. Teams naturally come for the international competition on the pitch, but the vibrant city of Düsseldorf, with its charming Old Town and famous Rhine Promenade, is certainly an additional reason to take part in the Niederrhein Trophy.

Thing to do in and around Düsseldorf
Düsseldorf
Düsseldorf (600,000 inhabitants) is famous for its shopping boulevards, museums and vibrant nightlife. The city lies on both banks of the Rhine with the Altstadt (Old Town) on the east side and the modern commercial district on the west side. The Altstadt is known as “die längste Theke der Welt”. The city owes this nickname to the more than 200 cafe bars, restaurants and terraces that can be found in this part of the city.
The Niederrhein Trophy shows why football in Germany is so enjoyable. With three green sports grounds, an international mix of teams and the lively vibe of Düsseldorf, this tournament offers much more than just matches. Want to see more events in Germany?
