"Thumbs up for all those volunteers"

More than 600 games in one weekend: the organisers of the Arnhem Cup don't shirk a challenge! A sporting adventure awaits football fans in Arnhem at Whitsun. With around 200 teams, the Arnhem Cup is the Netherlands' biggest tournament over the Whitsun weekend. The organisers provide a carefully planned match schedule, a smoothly executed programme and of course great hospitality. According to one enthusiastic participant: "the tournament gets better every year, so thumbs up for all those enthusiastic volunteers." Add to that the charms of Arnhem's city centre, stretching along the banks of the Rhine, and the picture for a successful weekend is complete.

Touristic information

Arnhem

Arnhem (155,000 inhabitants) is situated on the banks of the Rhine on the edge of a beautiful nature reserve in the Eastern Netherlands. The provincial capital rubs shoulders with De Veluwe national park, the biggest nature reserve in the Netherlands. South of the city lies the extensive rivers region. The lively city centre offers fantastic entertainment, with numerous lively terraces along Korenmarkt, and of course, a superb shopping centre.

GelreDome Stadium

The GelreDome is the home of the Arnhem professional football club, Vitesse. It's a special stadium which can quickly be converted into a concert hall: the grass is pushed back and the roof closes. Do you want to see that up close? Then take a tour of the stadium!
