The beuatiful city of Venice is 100 kilometres from Lignano amd well worth a visit. The city, with its many gondolas, was built on several small islands that are connected by numerous little bridges. A few tips:
- The Rialto Bridge: this bridge over the Canal Grande is an experience in itself. The diverse traders and other sellers, mostly of souvenirs, give the bridge a colorful character.
- Marco Polo's house: the birthplace of this famous explorer can be found in the courtyard of the Corte del Million.
- Piazza San Marco: this atmospheric square is highly recommended. Take a stroll around and have a drink at Florian or Quadri, the famous historical cafes.
