BBQ working overtime

One thing is for sure at the Amsterdam Tournament: for a fun, attractive tournament, Abcoude is the place to be. Within a few years, the tournament has grown to become the largest senior tournament in the Amsterdam region. The organising club FC Abcoude has about a thousand members. It gets really busy at their sports ground on a normal weekend, let alone when another 1,000 international guests from seven countries pop by. The outdoor café will be buzzing, and the BBQ will be working overtime.

The Amsterdam Tournament takes place in Abcoude, a quaint little villages a few kilometres south/south-east of Amsterdam. The organizer has a beautiful sports grounds with 4-5 pitches, and a spacious canteen with a bar and terrace. The terraces are laid out with festive stalls and a large grill during the event. The venue is only a few minutes' walk from the station, where you can catch a train for a 15-minute ride to the centre of Amsterdam.

About the organiser

The Amsterdam Tournament is organised by FC Abcoude. FC Abcoude is a partner of AFC Ajax and FC Utrecht and regularly supplies youth players to these professional clubs. The most well-known player who played for FC Abcoude is Bayern Munich defender and Dutch international Matthijs de Ligt.
