The Trophee du Rhin is held in the Rhine valley just north of Strasbourg. La Wantzenau (6,000 inhabitants) and Brumath (9,000 inhabitants) are friendly villages, each with a typical little shopping centre including a café-bar with outdoor tables at the crossroads and half-timbered houses here and there. If you want something on a grander scale, Strasbourg and its famous centre are just 20 km away.
            Strasbourg

Strasbourg is 20 kilometres from the match locations. The city is the heart of the Elsace and the capital of Europe. The centre of the city boasts glorious old buildings, beautiful little alleyways and many other attractions. The most famous monument is the impressive cathedral. You'll also find La Petite France here: the most well preserved part of the city. You'll be amazed at the old timber frame buildings, which are more than 300 years old. There are often shops and restaurants tuked away in these buildings.
