Mönchengladbach is a name well known to football fans. The city’s pride and joy is Borussia Mönchengladbach, which has long been one of the leading teams in the Bundesliga. The Mönchengladbach Cup takes place near the Borussia-Park stadium. However, the cup is not played at the 60,000-capacity stadium; instead, participants enjoy the cheerful atmosphere of a cosy sports park. The tournament is organised by ASV Süchtelen, SV Reydt 08 and 1.FC Mönchengladbach.

The matches of the Mönchengladbach Pokal are played at the sports complexes of ASV Süchteln, 1. FC Mönchengladbach and SV 08 Rheydt. Together, the three clubs offer various football pitches for 11-a-side, 9-a-side and 7-a-side football, providing suitable playing fields for all participating age categories.

Mönchengladbach
Mönchengladbach is located around 20 kilometres to the west of Düsseldorf. The city has a pleasant, pedestrian-friendly centre and a number of historical nooks and crannies around the cathedral, near the water tower and in the old town. The main attraction is, of course, Stadion im Borussia-Park, the home of Borussia Mönchengladbach. Although the tournament is not held there, the teams get to play at a couple of fantastic sites.

The tours last 90 minutes and show you the spots that fans normally don't get to see.
