Il Duke's Trophy è uno dei più vecchi torneo internazionale di calcio giovanile nel programma Euro-Sportring, ma a Schijndel sono entusiasti ancora come alla prima edizione, nel 1984! Ogni anno i volontari dell’SV Avanti ’31 riescono a proporre un torneo di successo perché questo è ciò che amano fare. Gli impianti sportivi dispongono di 5 campi in erba, di una grande club house ed a breve distanza si trova Den Bosch, un buon posto per lo shopping o per una serata in compagnia. Non c’è da meravigliarsi se molti partecipanti di questo torneo ritorneranno per la 29ma edizione!
L’organizzatore di questo torneo internazionale di calcio giovanile è l’SV Avanti ’31, fondata appunto nel 1931. Il club conta circa 750 iscritti, di cui 300 nella sezione giovanile, divisi in 26 squadre in tutte le categorie. Ogni iscritto è in qualche modo coinvolto nella realizzazione del torneo Duke's Trophy.
The Duke's Trophy is played at De Molenheide sports park, which belongs to Avanti '31, on the outskirts of Schijndel, 2 kilometres from the centre. The sports park is part of a recreational zone with 5 football pitches and a covered swimming pool. It also has a pleasant club house with a canteen and separate building for changing rooms.
The town of Schijndel is located in North Brabant in the shadow of 's-Hertogenbosch. Once a year, this quiet spot in the countryside becomes altogether louder thanks to Paaspop music festival and the thousands of visitors it receives. And for those who want even more culture, a trip to 's-Hertogenbosch is definitely worth it. After all, it is just another 10 kilometres down the road.
In 's-Hertogenbosch, also known as Den Bosch, there is an incredible array of things to do and experience. For real culture vultures there are museums, boat trips and town tours. Shop-a-holics can really let loose in the various shopping streets, and there are also many cosy restaurants and bars. Don't forget to try the local speciality, the Bossche bol, a large cream profiterole in a chocolate shell.
De Molen Hey Swimming Pool:
Participants can swim for free in the evenings at the De Molen Hey swimming pool. The swimming pool has various pools and a 23 metre long water slide. The pool is situated right next to De Molenheide sports park.
