Driving eastwards past Lille, you can hardly miss it: the impressive stadium of OSC Lille, multiple French champions. The Trophée des Hauts de France tournament is not held there, but one of the venues is the Guy Lefort sports park, home to the youth academy of the professional club. Chief organiser is the Union Football Lambersart club which will be celebrating its centenary in 2024 with some special activities, including an international tournament. Lille is easy to reach from London, Amsterdam, Brussels or Dusseldorf, for example. Which will undoubtedly result in a good list of competitors for the organiser.

Union Football Lambersart was formed in 2021 following a merger between IC Lambersart and FC Lambersart. The club has more than 500 members and both boys and girls are active.

The club Union Football Lambersart contains 4 football pitches.

Lille is located in northern France right on the border with Belgium. The city itself has over 200,000 inhabitants, but the urban agglomeration, together with that of neighbouring Kortrijk in Belgium, has more than 2 million inhabitants. The "Old Town" comprises a 1.5 km area between the central station and the old Citadelle .  Here you will find atmospheric shopping streets, imposing squares with monumental buildings and terraces everywhere plus an abundance of cosy cafés, brasseries and restaurants where you can enjoy delicious local cuisine including the popular "Moules-frites" (mussels with fries).

For the exciting exterior alone, you would want to spend a weekend at the Auberge de Jeunesse HI Lille. The architecture is not only special on the outside, the design inside is also very surprising. The accommodation is very conveniently located on the inner ring road more or less around the corner from the motorway and one kilometre from the lively centre of Lille. The monumental "Grand Place" in the old town is a little further away.
