The Sirene Cup is organised by the 'Koninklijke Voetbalclub' (Royal Football Club) of Oostende. This club was established in 1981. The 1st team currently plays in the 1st national league.

The Sirene Cup is played at the impressive De Schorre sports park in Ostend, a few kilometres from the beach and city centre. The park has no fewer than 20 pitches, various clubhouses, canteens and a sports hall with a restaurant. Sportpark De Schorre is also the part-time home base of KV Oostende. During the tournament, the park also offers an attractive terrace and a large grill.

Oostende

Ostend (70,000 inhabitants) offers everything you expect from a bathing resort: sea, a beautiful beach and a boulevard that is bustling and busy because of the cafés and restaurants. In Ostend you can also find a whole range of shopping streets behind the boulevard. In short: Ostend is a bathing resort with an urban feel.

Fort Napoleon

At the end of the 18th century, France annexed our provinces. Napoleon feared an English attack on the port of Oostende, so in 1811 he had an imposing fort built in the dunes: Fort Napoleon. It is now a museum, bistro and restaurant - it's really worth a visit.

Bruges

Half an hour's drive from Oostende is the beautiful town of Bruges. It is one of Belgium's largest tourist attractions. With its gorgeous, romantic centre and numerous monumental buildings, this town draws tourists in all year round. The Grand Market Square and its surroundings are famous for their cultural treasures. The most important shopping streets and nightlife area are also situated around the square.
