Omni-sports club TV Verl celebrated its centenary in 2012. The club is brimming over with energy: various teams play high-quality handball in the German handball competition and the club writes hospitality with a big “H”. The club regularly plays host to top teams such as national selections and multiple German champion TBV Lemgo. The international tournament formed a peak of the festivities, which the participants could fully enjoy: according to one of the participating teams, it was a wonderful experience that will still be remembered a decade from now as if it were yesterday. The organiser’s motto “never change a winning team” already indicates that the club has plenty of quality. TV Verl has ideal accommodation for this type of event dead in the centre of Verl: a modern sports complex withy three halls with galleries for a thousand spectators. The participants’ accommodation is at a modern school next to the sports complex. The car can therefore stay where it is. Add to this the festive programme and the enthusiasm of the organisers and it’s clear why so many famous faces appear at the start annually at the next round.
The Verler Handball Cup is organised by Turn Verein (TV) Verl 1912. This is a multi-sport club with a handball section. Approximately 350 members participate in 30 teams, including 22 junior teams.
