International football in a picturesque setting

International youth football tournament in Ketsch/Mannheim, Germany: Rhein-Neckar Pokal
Participating countries:
Belgium France Germany Italy Netherlands Switzerland

Are you on the hunt for an international competition in a picturesque setting? Why not try the Rhein-Neckar Pokal? The inaugural tournament in 2019, featuring teams from six countries, was a first-time hit, and included complimentary comments about the good organisation and warm hospitality. The organisers have beautiful sport grounds at their disposal, complete with a traditional 'Stube' (pub) and a tournament centre with festive decorations. And those wanting to take a look outside the sports grounds, can taste the atmosphere of times past with castles and half-timbered houses in the immediate vicinity. The charming historic university city of Heidelberg is a fifteen-minute drive away. Unbeatable!

Organiser

The Rhein-Neckar Pokal is organised by SPVGG 06 Ketsch and SC 08 Reilingen. Both clubs were established more than 100 years ago. SPVGG 06 Ketsch has approximately 700 members and about 20 league teams. SC 08 Reilingen has about 400 members and usually has 14 teams in the competition.

Sport facillity

The Rhein-Neckar Pokal is held at two locations: in Ketsch and nearby Reilingen. The SPVGG 06 Ketsch sports complex features 5 fields, a grandstand at the main field, a cosy "Stube", as a clubhouse, and several changing rooms. SC08 Reilingen has a park with three fields and a clubhouse with a restaurant. During the tournament, both parks will be supplemented with festive centres featuring a terrace, various kiosks and a grill.

Ketsch

Ketsch (12,700 inhabitants) is located in the Rhine-Neckar region on the banks of the Rhine, within the Speyer, Heidelberg, Mannheim triangle. The region is a prime tourist attraction because of its historic town centres. Speyer and Heidelberg are internationally known for their historic buildings and, besides a historic centre, Mannheim also offers vibrant city life with a large shopping centre, and much more.

Reilingen

With its 7,000 inhabitants, located between Schwetzinger and Lußheimer Hardt, Reilingen has created its own municipal character image. Reilingen is known for its asparagus crops in best qualities. By 2010, tobacco production was still landmark. The beautiful surroundings with around 700 hectares of forests and a well-developed network of cycling and hiking trails make Reilingen also because of its convenient location to a popular residential community.

Heidelberg

Fifteen minutes' drive from Ketsch is the medieval university town of Heidelberg. Visit the historic centre with its intimate market square and small shopping streets. And don't miss out on the view from the 13th century Heidelberg castle, the 1th century Old Bridge and the student prison, which dates back to the 16th century.
