An international highlight

International youth football tournament in Munich, Germany: Bayern Trophy
Participating countries:
Austria Belgium Czech Republic France Germany Italy Netherlands Poland England Hungary Switzerland

If you’re looking for an international competition, the Bayern Trophy is definitely the perfect choice. The tournament is a highlight on the international calendar. It is a summit between teams from Northern and Southern Europe. The previous edition of the Bayern Trophy certainly did not disappoint, with around 100 teams from over 12 different countries taking part: from the Balkan states to Denmark, Ireland to Slovakia and everything in between. The tournament is the pride of Markt Schwaben, Heimstetten, FC Ismaning and TSV Allershausen, four friendly suburbs near the Munich Northeast ring. Although the competition on the pitches is the top priority, it is also good to know that you can hop on the suburban railway (S-Bahn) and reach Marienplatz, Munich’s central square, in no time.

Heimstetten & Ismaning

The Bayern Trophy is held in Ismaning (16.000 inhabitants), Heimstetten (7,000 inhabitants), Allershausen (5.000 inhabitants) and in Markt Schwaben (11,000 inhabitants), which are located around  5-20 kilometres to the east of Munich, respectively. The centre of Munich can be reached in half an hour from either of these locations.  All sports complexes are less than a kilometre from the town centres.

Munich is the dazzling capital of Bavaria. It is a wonderful city for people of all ages. It is easily reached from Markt Schwaben by using the metro. The partially car-free centre is bursting with old Bavarian architecture. When the weather is good, the city's residents come out to take a seat at long, wooden tables, where they enjoy a bratwurst and a drink together. The social quarter of Schwabing offers a lot of fun, but the social circuit of the Münchener Freiheit is also a concept inside and outside of Munich.
