International youth football tournament Huizen, Netherlands: Huizen Gooimeer Cup
Participating countries:
Belgium Denmark France Germany Netherlands

SV Huizen plays in the highest Dutch amature class, has a brand new sports complex and a superb youth division featuring just under 50 teams. SV Huizen may be 90 years old, but it is livelier than ever. No wonder the first edition of the Huizen Gooimeer Cup was a big success. All of these achievements and initiatives fit perfectly with the culture of this former fishing locality on Gooimeer (Gooi Lake), which was previously known as Zuiderzee. Building work and other operations are underway in Huizen. The tournament will be held on a large sports park located close to the old port on the edge of Gooimeer. The pleasant centre is within walking distance. And, if you were wondering, Amsterdam is just a half-hour’s drive away.

With more than 1200 members, SV Huizen is one of the largest football clubs in Huizen and the surrounding area. Aged between 4 and 55 years of age, its members are distributed across 65 teams. When it comes to Saturday amateur football, SV Huizen’s first team has a long and storied history. Over the years, the team has won more than 10 titles: it was twice crowned overall Dutch Amateur Champions and is the seven-time winner of the Saturday league in which it competes. Its greatest achievement to date was when the club secured promotion to the Dutch Third Division last season. In short, this is a club with ambition and a place where impressive performances are the norm.

SV Huizen plays at Wolfskamer sports park. Here, the club has access to six pitches, two of which are made of artificial turf. The two artificial turf pitches are equipped with lighting for competitive matches. The main pitch has capacity for around 5,000 spectators, while the covered stand has room for approximately 800 spectators. The club currently has around 20 changing rooms, a large canteen and an office.

Huizen

Huizen (over 40,000 inhabitants) is surrounded by water, pastures, woods and moorland. The "old village" within the small town is a maze of streets with picturesque old farms located right next to each other. The tournament will take place a few kilometres further away. Huizen is situated 25 kilometres away from Amsterdam and Utrecht.

Amsterdam

Amsterdam is the capital of the Netherlands. It always has something to offer. The city is known for its historic canals, picturesque and often ancient buildings, numerous museums, shopping streets and markets, and fascinating nightlife. The Anne Frank House, the Kalverstraat, the Dam, the Leidseplain and the Vondelpark – they are all fantastic sights. Take a tour of the canals and you'll see almost all of the main sights from the water.
