Avignon is a historical city dating back to the Roman period with an attractive and cosy centre. In this area the Trophée du Soleil takes place. The matches are planned in such a way that the teams always have some time to explore the attractions of that region. Upon arrival on Friday at the check-in point a welcome drink will be offered to all players, which is an illustration of the hospitality of the organizers. In the early evening, an official presentation of the teams, with national anthems, will take place. Saturday will be a busy football day, during the day the preliminaries will be played, followed by a reception for the team leaders in presence of local dignitories. Sunday is the last day of the competition and ends with the finals all in the main stadium. After dinner, the prize giving ceremony will take place at a central location, followed by a farewell party with live music. Here the participants will get the possibility to celebrate victory or merely get rid of any energy they still have.

As well as participation at the tournament, Euro-Sportring also arranges the accommodation for the participants. Participants can usually choose between school accommodation, group accommodation (youth accommodation and bungalows) and hotels. The accommodation we offer has been selected with care and must comply to a number of conditions such as are they within easy reach of the sports park, do they provide value for money, are they suitable for sports groups, are they safe and are the management flexible. Les Angles (2,000 residents): a wonderful 'Provencal' village, is only 5 minutes from the medieval city of Avignon, which draws so many tourists near to the French Riviera. The attractive centre of Avignon is the perfect place to spend some time, whether in daytime or the evening.

Avignon, 100.000 inhabitants, is located in the south of France on the Rhône is the capital of the Provence region. The Pope took up residence here in the 14th century, which is why it is still referred to as the second Rome. The city enjoys world-wide fame thanks to the children's song about its old bridge: Sur le pont d'Avignon. Both the bridge and the Pope's palace (the world's largest gothic palace) are certainly worth a visit. Shopping streets can be found in the pedestrian zone, the Joseph Vernet and St. Agricol, the La Balance neighbourhood and Avenue Republic. Besides a wide range of luxury goods, there are also endless shops selling local specialities, such as Provencal materials, terra cotta and ceramics. Local cuisine can be savoured in every restaurant, and is guaranteed to include 'Papalines': a local delicacy made from chocolate, sugar and oregano liqueur. And of course, it will all be accompanied by the wine of this region, the Cotes du Rhône. There are also plenty of sporting options to be enjoyed in Avignon. The 'Piscine Olympique des Arènes' (the Olympic swimming baths), along with golf, tennis and many water sports. Another exciting option is the Laser Game on the Boulevard Fernand Serre. Upon arrival, each team will receive detailed information about the tourist attractions in and around Avignon.

Train ride around Avignon. For only ca. € 3 per person, you can make a ride through the Roches des Doms Gardens. You will have a magnificent view over the Rhône, the St. Benezet Bridge, Avignon and its old roofs, Villeneuve-lès-Avignon and its wonders. The 2nd tour will be more expensive (ca. € 5) but will lead you through the streets of Avignon, the renovated old quarter towards the poplar palace, the St. Benezet Bridge and the ram parts unveils for you the true face of Avignon.
