Czech Budweis Cup Ceske Budejovice, Czech Republic - 27 untill 29 July 2010 (Summer) (cz)

For many years now the Czech Budweis Cup has become the summer destination for clubs from more and more countries. All the different nationalities, all the participants, staying at the campus of the university and an attractive sports programme which guarantees at least 6 matches and all the touristic attractions Ceske Budejovice and surroundings have to offer, like rafting on the Vltava river or visiting the brewery of the world famous Budweiser beer, makes the Czech Budweis Cup to an unforgettable experience. The tournament starts Tuesday with the preliminaries. A festive welcome ceremony and flagparade will be held and the Mayor of Ceske Budejovice will officially open the tournament. On Wednesday the tournament continues with the preliminaries and classification matches. In the evening the organizer, the 'South Bohemian Football Association', invites all team leaders for a reception and buffet. Meanwhile all participants can party at the Palm Beach disco. Thursday the finals will be played at the stadium of Borek followed by the prize-giving ceremony.

As well as participation at the tournament, Euro-Sportring also arranges the accommodation for the participants. Participants can usually choose between school accommodation, group accommodation (youth accommodation and bungalows) and hotels. Ceske Budejovice (100,000 inhabitants) is the main city in south Bohemia and was built over 7 centuries ago, by the order of King Otakar II. Prague and Vienna are at about 90 miles. Budweis '97, cut in two parts by the river Vltava, has become a very exciting city with some major attractions: various museums, the world famous Budweiser beer brewery, the Black Tower (72 meters - 1577) and the historical Town Hall (1730). Other attractions are the local in and outdoor swimming pools, the casino and the Planetarium. Finally, the cosy city centre has numerous pubs and restaurants, where the legendary Czech hospitality will make you feel at home on arrival.

Castles.
Bohemia is a paradise for castle-lovers. Most of them are in excellent condition and do relate perfectly to ancient lifestyles. The Lipno lake, about 30 miles south-west of Ceske Budejovice is the biggest lake of the Czech Republic. With a length of 25 miles the northern shores offers great facilities for watersports like swimming, boat hire and fishing.

Prague
The beauty of Prague is legendary since the middle ages. The Czech love their capital and have a passion for their past. As a result, the city is beautifully preserved. No wonder that Prague works like a magnet to visitors from all over the world. Here, they will find a fabulous architecture, numerous impressing monuments, charming alleys and lively shopping areas in a historical setting. Prague is build on seven hills, divided by the Moldau river, which is spanned by 15 bridges. The centre consists of 6 sections, each with a distinguish flavour: Staré Mesto (Old Town) with its winding, narrow cobblestone streets, Nové Mesto (New Town - don't be fooled: over 600 years old) with the popular Wencelas Square, Malá Strana (little town), the most picturesque part of Prague filled with palaces, Hradcany - the quarter around the famous Prague Castle and Vysehrad, named after the fortress on the cliffs rising high above the Moldau river, Josefov-Jewish ghetto with the spirit of Franz Kafka.

Cesky Krumlov
18 miles south west of Ceske Budejovice is a characteristically medieval town and an official UNESCO monument. Besides a magnificent castle and picturesque town-centre, it also offers ideal opportunities for canoeing and rafting on the Vitava river, which is running throug the town.
