Coppa Tricolore Reggio Emilia - Bologna, Italy - 03 untill 04 April 2010 (Easter) (it)

The programme starts on Friday evening with a teamleaders reception in one of the most historical venues of Italy, namely the hall where the national flag (the 'Tricolore') was adopted in 1797. Also the Mayor of Reggio Emilia will be present. For participants the evening is free, they can go to the annual Fancy Fair to have fun. Saturday the tournament starts with the preliminaries. After a whole day of intensive sport a ‘Welcome ceremony’ is organised, which will take place in the main sport hall in the centre of Reggio Emilia. Here all the teams will be presented to each other and an attractive show will entertain all the participants of the 'Coppa Tricolore'. Sunday morning all other preliminaries will be played, followed by the semi finals. After the finals, and a teamleaders match, a festive prize-giving ceremony will follow at the sports complex, in the late afternoon/early evening.

As well as participation at the tournament, Euro-Sportring also arranges the accommodation for the participants. Participants can usually choose between school accommodation, group accommodation (youth accommodation and bungalows) and hotels. Reggio Emilia, with a population of around 150,000 people, is the capital of the Province Emilia Romagna. It is centrally located in northern Italy, some 30 miles north-west of Bologna. Reggio Emilia is an important centre for trade and industry. It has a rich history as roman colony, but the historical monuments left are from the medieval period and afterwards. The centre is dominated by a nice square with the Palazzo Comunale and the Cathedral. During the weekend of Easter the annually fair is held close tot the location of the football pitches, which is worth a visit.

Modena has 180,000 inhabitants and is about 15 miles from Reggio. It is famous for its hospitality and has a cosy city centre. Modena is the city of Epicureans and gastronomes, famous for its ham, cheese and Lambrusco wine. But is also the city of the world-known cars Ferrari and Maserati. You will also find here the large roman Cathedral and one of the most important art galleries in Italy.

Parma has 180,000 inhabitants and is about 19 miles from Reggio and is another city famous for its ham and cheese. But also a city with rich historical back ground, going back to two centuries before Christ. The town's flowering time however was the 12th and 13th century from which period date a lot of beautiful buildings. The old centre of the city certainly is worth a visit.
