The Bohemia Cup has a long tradition and organizers know perfectly how to combine a fine sports programme with the attractiveness of a city like Plzen. Teams can choose to arrive on Thursday or Friday. For the teams that arrive on Thursday, the first matches of the tournament will start on Friday morning after which the players are free to visit the highlights of Plzen (e.g. brewery museum, Plzen historical catacombs or have a swim in the Slovany swimming pool). In the evening, the team leaders will be picked up at their accommodation by a bus which will bring them to the town hall of Vejprnice, where the official reception will take place. Saturday will be a day filled with football because a lot of matches are scheduled for this day, especially for those teams which arrived on Friday. The finals and some classification matches will be played on Sunday morning and the tournament will end quite early in the afternoon with the prize giving ceremony straight after the finals. The small but cosy stadium of SK Slavia Vejprnice will be the venue for the finals and festive prize-giving ceremony with music and showgirls.

As well as participation at the tournament, Euro-Sportring also arranges the accommodation for the participants. Participants can usually choose between school accommodation, group accommodation (youth accommodation and bungalows) and hotels. Plzen (Pilzen) a city of some 163,000 inhabitants is around 60 miles south west of Prague, and is the fourth largest city of the Czech Republic. This is where the famous pilsner lager was discovered sometime around 1842. Industry is flourishing in Plzen but the old city is the place to be for visitors looking to savour the rich cultural history of Plzen. The cosy centre lies between two rivers and is dominated by the impressive St. Bartholomew Cathedral with its 103 metre tower steeple. The Square of the Republic, in the heart of Plzen, is full of age old monumental buildings, and is surrounded by a number of narrow and bustling streets. The city centre may not be large but there are certainly enough shops and plenty of restaurants, bistros, pubs and nightclubs.

Visit the brewery.
For those who like beer, Plzen is associated with the Pilsener Urquelle. This tasty drink has been exported to various countries since the middle of the 19th century. The secrets can be discovered in the Pivovarské museum, a malt-house dating from the middle ages in the Veleslavinova street, or in the West Bohemian brewery (U Prazdroj) where you can test the drink for yourself. The Zoo.
This zoological garden near the city centre of Plzen, has a varied landscape with small lakes, rocks, arboretum and parks. The space for bears is the second largest of Europe. Monkeys and large cats live in a natural habitat. Next to the zoo is the largest natural amphitheatre in the Czech RepublicPlzen historical catacombs. The catacombs, created between the 14th and 18th century under the whole of medieval Plzen, are a complicated system of two-three level cellars and catacombs, and over 250 wells. The passages are about 20 km in total length. The tour of the catacombs is approximately 750 meters long and descends to depths of 9-12 meters under the city. Opening hours: Sat-Sun: 09.00 - 17.00.
