Stay
As well as participation at the tournament, Euro-Sportring also arranges the accommodation for the participants. Participants can usually choose between school accommodation, group accommodation (youth accommodation and bungalows) and hotels. The accommodation we offer has been selected with care and must comply to a number of conditions, such as: are they within easy reach of the sports park, do they provide value for money, are they suitable for sports groups, are they safe and is the management flexible.

Dining hall/Lunch:
The dining hall is located in the centre of Poperinge. During the tournament different kinds of snacks and drinks will be sold in the canteen and at different stands on the sports grounds.

Touristic information

Poperinge (20.000 inhabitants).
Is situated in the southwest of the province West-Flanders, not far from the French border. Old stories claim that Poperinge used to be called Pupuningaheim, named after the Pupurn-family that settled near the market square in the fifth century. These days Poperinge can be described as ‘typically Flemish’ which can be seen in street signs and café signs. The town centre offers some interesting sights like the neo-gothic town hall, the St. Bertinus’ church and the former Gasthuiskapel (Guest house chapel).

Ostend (42 miles from Poperinge).
Is also known as the 'Queen of the Coastal Towns' and is the only Belgian coastal resort that is as lively in the winter as it is in the summer. Culture, sport, gastronomy: there’s a huge variety of things to choose from. Because of the fact that thousands of English tourists visit Ostend each year, the English even call the city of Ostend 'the most British town in Europe'. Why not combine a day at the beach with a museum? In Ostend, you can visit the North Sea aquarium or the Amandine ship, which houses an interactive fisheries museum. Sporty beach visitors can go (kite) surfing at a number of locations.

Funparc Plopsaland in Adinkerke-De Panne (20 miles km from Poperinge).
Funparc Plopsaland to admire the first rays of sunshine in the Fairy Tale Forest, feel the wind in your hair during a ride in the Dragon or at the wild river of the Castle of King Samson. For the little ones there is Plopgarden with f.e. the traffic parc, the Plopsa Train Express and a huge playground with all kinds of attractions. Plopsaland has more than 30 attractions and shows for young and old, so bring a visit to Plopsaland and experience another beautiful day at the Belgian Coast.

Program introduction
Participants in the Poperinge Trophy can be sure of one thing: this is a tournament where a lot of matches and football related activities will be organized. The programme starts on Friday evening when team leaders are invited by their hostes and the mayor of Poperinge for the official reception. In the meantime, players can get to know each other at the clubhouse of K.F.C. Poperinge. On Saturday, an extensive sports programme will be offered with a lot of matches being played. At noon the welcoming ceremony will give all players a chance to catch their breath again because the rest of the day will be filled with even more activities. Not just with matches but also with the Penalty Cup competition. On Saturday evening it’s time to celebrate and meet the youth of Poperinge at a social evening. However, on Sunday morning players are expected back on the pitches to play the remaining group matches and maybe even the finals. The Poperinge Trophy will come to an end on Sunday evening with the prize giving ceremony.
