The organisers offer a compact match-programme so that their guests have plenty of time to explore the city of Cologne. The organisers will welcome the participating clubs at their sport accommodation on Friday afternoon. For the team leaders a welcome drink is ready during which all information will be given, including information on the good public transport connections to and from the city centre. At the same time all guests can enjoy Rhineland hospitality at the clubhouse. The remainder of the evening is free to discover the city centre. The tournament will start on Saturday morning after a few words of welcome. Each team will play 3 group matches on Saturday. On Sunday the schedule will be made so that most of the teams will play at least a further 2 matches at more or less their own playing level. In the evening the Cologne 'Altstadt' is a must for a visit. Before that, a good idea is a look inside the new World Cup Stadium of Cologne, which is situated next to the tournament location!! The teams that did not qualify are free on Sunday to enjoy all that Cologne and its’ surroundings has to offer. The prizes will be awarded after the finals on Sunday afternoon. The evening is free for another visit to the attractive city-centre.

Cologne (nearly 1,000,000 residents, on the Rhine in the centre of Germany, around 30 miles from the Dutch border). This is an orderly city in which it's easy to find your way. The main attractions are all found between the Rhine and the Ring. The city is built in a crescent shape around the famous Cologne Dom. More info: www.koeln.de.
The Dom is a huge gothic cathedral which can be seen from all corners of Cologne. It is open daily and, if you're fit enough, it can be climbed from 9.00 - 15.30 hours.
The zoo in Cologne (Zoo Köln) is one of the best in the world. It includes an Aquarium, with not only fish but also reptiles. Open daily from 9.00 - 18.00 hours. More info: www.zoo-koeln.de.
Shopping: the main shopping streets are in a wide strip south of central station. The Hohe Strasse is the Mayfair of Cologne and is linked to the Schildergasse, with lots of very large warehouses. Cologne has plenty of specialist shops, such as the Haus der 1000 Pokale (Friesenstrasse 41) which sells nothing else but sports trophies.
Düsseldorf. Düsseldorf (approx. 20 miles) is one of Germany's most popular cities. The city, situated on the river Rhine, offers an abundance of culture and liveliness during the day, as well as in the evening. The centre around the 'Königsallee' has the flair of Paris - large shopping centres and exclusive boutiques between stylish cafes and cosy terraces. The typically German atmosphere can be found in the 'Altstadt' in the evening. The 'Altstadt' makes Düsseldorf into one of the most lively cities of Europe, because of the amazing string of restaurants, cafes, jazz clubs and discos.
RheinEnergieStadion. This stadium with 50.000 seats is the home of second division club 1. FC Köln. The stadium was newly rebuild in 2004-2005 and is one of the host stadiums of the World Cup 2006. Price for a stadium tour: € 3,00 for children up until 14 years and € 6,00 for all people above 14 years. More info: www.stadion-koeln.de.
Michael Schumacher Kart Centre (Kerpen, approx. 12 miles). The famous World Champion Formule 1 owns his own karting centre only 25 minutes from Cologne. There are indoor and outdoor tracks of 600 meters, a fan-shop, restaurant and a bar. Ride fee for a single run from 9 minutes: € 7,50 for children from 8-11 years, € 10,00 for people from 12 year and older. Open from 10:00 – 23:00 every day. More info: www.ms-kartcenter.de.
