Everyone feels at home here

International youth football tournament Berlin Germany: Berlin Cup

“A wonderful atmosphere at the park and optimum guidance of the organiser: everyone felt right at home at the Berlin Cup”, according to one of the participants of the international youth football touranment in 2013. The sophisticated competition programme is really a great combination of sports and leisure time, as there is also time to explore Berlin’s attractions. Yet there is nothing wrong with spending some time in the atmospheric park as there is plenty to do here: from practicing goals to tug-of-war and of course a festive opening ceremony.

The Berlin Cup is organised by FC Concordia Wilhelmsruh 1895 e.V.  It is a relatively small club that was founded in 1895 by one of the founding members of the Deutscher Fußball Bund (DFB). The club began under the name Concordia Berlin. FC Concordia Wilhelmsruh currently plays in the German competition with 19 teams.

Besides facilitating participation in the tournament, Euro-Sportring also arranges accommodation for the participants. ESR has arrangements with a number of affordable hotels and youth hostels in the centre of Berlin and the nearby region. The tournament venue can be easily reached from all of the accommodation locations.

Berlin
Since the fall of the wall in 1989, Berlin is steadily becoming one of the hippest cities in Europe . With its many historical things to see, memorials of a recent past and the Sony Centre, Berlin is the place to be! Niketown can be found in the Tauentzienstrasse: this shop is 3500 m² and is filled with the latest sports fashion! There are many places to go out to in Berlin. There are numerous terraces and many cafes and clubs.

The Olympia Stadium
The Olympia Stadium in Berlin was built by order of Adolf Hitler in the 1930s for the Olympic Games that were held in Berlin in 1936. The stadium was renovated for the World Cup in 1974 and was also partially covered. The final of the Football World Cup was held here in 2006, for which the stadium was given another revamp. Professional club Hertha BSC plays its home games at Olympia Stadium.
