As well as participation at the tournament, Euro-Sportring also arranges the accommodation for the participants. Participants can usually choose between school accommodation, group accommodation (youth accommodation and bungalows) and hotels. The accommodation we offer has been selected with care and must comply to a number of conditions, such as: are they within easy reach of the sports park, do they provide value for money, are they suitable for sports groups, are they safe and is the management flexible.

Touristic information
Innsbruck
Innsbruck (125,000 inhabitants). University city, cathedral city, sports city. Innsbruck is an all-rounder. The capital of Tirol as we know it today was founded at the beginning of the fifteenth century. The residences on the existing Hofburg and on the main square of the city date from this period. In this period, Keizer Maximillian I commissioned the building of the balcony with the golden roof (Goldenes Dach) on Herzog Friedrichstraße, which is today still an important tourist attraction.

Altstadt
Altstadt, the oldest part of Innsbruck, is encircled by the ring of Marktgraben, Burggraben, Hofgasse, Pfarrgasse, Badgasse and Inn. The small city centre is crossed by a number of narrow lanes (the Gassen) on which high houses stand that block out the light. In some places, this has preserved the atmosphere of the old ‘Innsprucke’. A highlight of a visit to Innsbruck is the mausoleum of Maximillian - note that he is not buried here - in the Hofkirche. 28 life-size statutes encircle the tomb.

Sports City
Innsbruck is pre-eminently a sports city. In the summer and the winter, the city has a lot to offer both top sportsmen and the recreational sportsmen. The city makes optimal use of the natural, mountainous surroundings which are ideal for almost every outside sport, but Innsbruck also has a large number of indoor facilities.

The city established its reputation as a sports city by taking on the organisation of the Olympic Winter Games in 1964 and 1976 when Innsbruck took over the organisation from Denver. One can reminisce on the games in the building with the golden balcony where the Olympia Museum is housed. An important crowd puller in the pitch of sport is the new Bergisel ski jump, which was opened in 2002. The jump is 47 metres high and visitors are rewarded with a spectacular view over the city and mountaintops of the Alps from the restaurant on the top.

The Nordkettenbahn takes skiers, walkers and others to the Nordpark-Seegrube, which is 1905 metres above sea level. The view over the city and the Inn valley is impressive, but there is a higher view. From the Hafelekar Top Terminal, which is 2,334 metres above sea level. Here one has a breathtaking view over the Alps.

Program introduction
If there is a city that truly deserves the honour ‘Sports City’, it must be Innsbruck. This city organised the Winter Olympics in both 1964 and 1976 and is also one of the locations where the 2008 European Championships took place. This makes Innsbruck the perfect location for the international youth football tournament Innsbruck Trophy.

The tournament kicks off on Friday evening with the official team leaders reception. Representatives of the town and the local tourist office will be present to welcome the guests and give advice about things to do in and around Innsbruck. In the meantime competitors will be free to do as they please. They might feel like going into town or spend the evening at their accommodations where different activities will be organised.

On Saturday a busy programme awaits them, because after the opening ceremony the first group matches will be played. On Saturday evening all teams will have a chance to get to know Innsbruck. A visit to the Bergisel Ski Jump or a walk around the Innsbrucker Altstadt are some interesting possibilities. The different accommodations where teams will spend the nights will organise entertainment as well, so there’s absolutely no chance to get bored.

On Sunday the tournament continues with the remaining group matches and finals. The tournament comes to an end on Sunday afternoon with the prize giving ceremony.
